Possessive Dog With Newborn? 🐶

I have two German shepherds and one pitt husky mix. The shepherds names are Skye and Sasha and the mutt’s name is Mae. We brought our son home on Wednesday and they were a little confused at first, but now they’ve seemed to warm up to him.

They’re still pretty curious though! They follow me everywhere when I’m carrying him, they always try to sniff him and lick his hair or lick his feet, and they always come running when he cries.

Sasha has started growling at Skye anytime Skye gets near the baby. These two have had some pretty bad fights in the past (when they were younger) and I’m wondering if this is her way of being possessive, showing dominance, or maybe protecting him?

A couple days ago, I also saw Mae snap at Sasha when Sasha went up to smell him in his bassinet, but I haven’t seen that behavior from Mae again since then.

Has anyone experienced something similar with multiple dogs? Will it continue? Are they still adjusting? How should I address it? Usually I tell Sasha “No!” firmly and I try to separate them. If she acts that way when my husband is home, I ask him to get after her because she responds better to him.
