Where do you keep the tampon string while using a tampon?

I know this is a totally weird question, but I heard a couple women talking about this and I never realized people did this differently. Now I'm curious lol

I let it hang down but make sure it’s tucked into my panties. I read a story about someone’s tampon string hanging out and someone pulled it because they thought it was a string on her skirt and it ripped the tampon out! 😬😬😬

I put it between my lips, because it got caught on my underwear once and I yanked it down. Just saying, it didn't feel good 😂😂
