Hey folks!!

I just picked up my first bc prescription from the pharamacy! I’m feeling super empowered rn! For one, it was free bc my Medicaid insurance 🙌. Secondly, I am getting birth control because I will be going to college in a month!

I’m starting this generic of Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo on the first day of my next period.

I’m expecting the worst: spotting, mood changes, tenderness, and hormonal changes such as acne.

I know that every BODY is different and responds differently, and saying that, I am asking you all about your experiences with the pill, the patch, the ring, etc. if you’d be willing to share.

Also, have you noticed a difference between generics and brand names? My doctor said that it makes no difference, and is often a psychological response/effect that people feel. 🤷‍♀️. If that’s true, could I ask my school’s health center (where I transferred the prescription online to) for a different brand that is covered by my insurance??
