What does bedsharing look like

Question

What does bedsharing look like between two and three months old, I was previously very against even considering it but now that my child still cannot seem to get any sleep I’m open to trying something else. What is a way to safely cosleep? Like seriously, dumb it down for me. Is it like you’re putting a dock a tot in between you and your husband? Our bed is small, so I can’t do anything too big or bulky.  constantly on this app people say that they cosleep but they don’t explain what that looks like😅 and I’m getting desperate to get him out
Note – we are currently cosleeping with him, in the halo bassinet, but he cannot seem to do more than 3 hours at a night in it

I may be wrong bc I’m a FTM but I believe there is a difference between cosleeping (room sharing) and bed sharing. 
So for example, co-sleeping would be me laying my son is his bassinet next to our bed. So he’s next to us in our room but he is in a completely separate sleeping space.
Bed sharing is when for example I’m side lying my newborn and we both fall asleep as he’s breastfeeding.
Some people use them interchangeably...
Once again could be wrong because FTM.

I bed shared for the first 6 months and I miss it! I would simply lay on my side and my son was and still is a side sleeper so he faces me while sleeping. Blanket only on me up to my stomach area so he cant grab it. I used a pillow but I put my head on the very edge of it so there was nothing overhead for my son to grab either. His head was about the level of my breasts and he would nurse whenever he wanted at night. I also was against bed sharing before I had him but he refused to sleep anywhere else but my arms. Only thing is that my SO moved to the couch because he was too scared he would roll and he actually aleeps so hard that my sons crying doesn't wake him so it was safest he got the boot!

For my family co-sleeping was very minimal. At first I was in the middle & baby would be on one side, dad on the other (We has a railing for the exposed side) 
Once baby started to roll she went in the middle. No blankets above our waist, baby’s head was at my breast level. My husband and I both ended up at the very edge & babe had the entire bed. Lol. 
As she got bigger it was more & more uncomfortable - she’s a kicker & a horizontal sleeper. 🤣

My son too slept in a bassinet next to the bed but eventually due to his 100 nightly wakes, he ended in our bed from exhaustion. I WILL say this though, he worked well for a few months but here we are at 13 months .. still in mommy and daddy’s bed 🙃 So you win some, you lose some. Just be prepared for it to become harder to break when they get older.

Well co sleeping and bed sharing are two different things. Cosleeping is typically baby in another bed that attaches or sits in the parents bed which I never did so can’t comment but I’ve always bed shard with with all 3 kids in which case for us was my kids on one side of the bed an my husband an on the other and I in the middle which was no different then sharing a bed with any one else since I’m a light sleeper
