Has anyone’s genetic blood screen had the wrong gender?

So we did the early genetic screening and found out it’s a girl. Even though I don’t care and am happy as long as it’s healthy my husband is very disappointed. He is refusing to talk about girl names, plan a nursery or even refer to her as a girl. 
He says he wants to wait for the 20 week ultrasound. Has anyone had their blood test been wrong...is there any hope my husband will get what he wants? 🤞🏻

I just wanna make sure YOURE ok. Because I can imagine it being very hurtful and a huge damper on the excitement of early pregnancy when your husband is acting like he’s gonna have to just deal with this kid instead of being excited about it. 
I hope your husband comes around quicker than the 20 week mark. You don’t deserve to have to deal with him being in outright denial about it. Disappointment is ok! But being a brat about it is not.

I cannot imagine that it can be wrong. The test screens for the presence or absence of a Y chromosome. In your case it must've been absent, but obviously it can't pop up later. In our case it was present, so a boy. I mean, I suppose there's always the chance of human error, but specifically with gender (which is very simple to determine when looking at the chromosomes) I highly doubt it. Your husband will be fine. My hubby also really wanted a girl, but as soon as he held his son his heart was lost to him forever. He fell head over heels in love.

my doctor told me its pretty impossible to get it wrong if its a boy bc you shouldnt have testosterone in your system for any other reason but ive never had a girl so idk about that.

If it was a boy result theres a chance of it being wrong. Not for a girl though. He needs to get over it

If your doctor did it, it's highly unlikely it will be wrong. Especially with a girl result. Boy results are the one that are usually wrong, due to contamination, but still the chance of it being wrong is at most like 1-2%.

When he holds her everything will change. My husband wanted a boy so bad but says all the time how he wouldn’t trade our girl for any boy. And he even admitted to me the other day that he actually is 55/45 leaning towards wanting another girl when we have our second. Obviously we get what we get, but don’t stress it.

They are 99% accurate.  There is chance a boy reading is incorrect if there is cross contamination but I haven’t heard of them being incorrect with girls.  I personally think that clinical versions are much more accurate then at home ones.  (My husband and I will be doing a clinical sneak peak next week with #2- blood tests weren’t a thing with my daughter )
I think every guy secretly wants a boy ... but my husband loves my daughter and the bond between daddy and daughter is so strong, he will quickly get over it.  My daughter loves her daddy so much, they have w great bond and at times she will favor him over me 😂🤷🏽‍♀️.

As long as it’s not one of those sneak a peak tests it’s even more likely to be correct then if you just did the scan. Can’t miss read chromosomes.  Mine said girl and here she is.

fetal DNA. If they say girl, it’s a girl!

my friends sisters was wrong. said she was having a girl but went in for her anatomy scan and it was clearly a boy. mine was correct though! said boy and DEFINITELY  a boy at my scan!
