How could someone be THIS ignorant

I take my client (adult with developmental and intellectual disabilities) to a public pool where she pays a fee to participate in any activity she chooses in the building.

She does Zumba a lot and the instructor lets her on stage to dance (she is VERY social and friendly)

While I was watching her dance, and older lady came up to me and stated— “who are you to this young lady? You need to tell her to get off stage she is distracting all of us and I can’t focus because she doesn’t even dance and she gets right in my face, I pay to be here, you need to talk to her before someone else does” UH????

I told her that she has severe adhd and that she is actually doing the best she can in this. I told the lady that she as well, pays to be here and that the instructor lets her on stage. She literally doesn’t even do anything wrong and if you’re distracted by a harmless person with a disability then you’re the one with issues.

I spoke to one of the staff at the center and he said (I’ll make up a name for my client) that Samantha pays to be here and has every right to be in there”

Ugh I almost bursted out in tears. With how many lovely people there are in our city.. there are always the fuck heads that pick on people with disabilities for no reason. Like?! If she didn’t have a disability you wouldn’t be so up your own ass about her would you? Doubt it.
