22 weeks, shortening cervix

Wendy

So I'm 22 weeks, and a day and 2 days ago I was told that my cervix had shortened by 1.3cm over the past 2 weeks indicating that there has been uterine activity (contractions). I have felt nothing so far so was really surprised. I am aware I have an incompetent cervix and had a cervical cerclage placed at 12weeks. I am being monitored closely by a perinatologist and get US and cervical length measurements every 2 weeks. After my last appointment, I have been asked to take 400mg ibuprofen every 6hrs, which apparently stops/slows contractions.

I go back next week to her measured agin and then if there's no good news, I will be put on something stronger. I was wondering if anyone has been through this before and if there are any success stories out there.

I don't even want to think of the possibility of losing another baby! I have received a lot of support and reassurance from this community in the past and would love some now I need it most!
