Rice cereal?

Question

At what age did you start giving your baby rice cereal/oatmeal? I'm thinking of trying it soon since my little one wakes so often at night.... hoping it might help him sleep longer!

Our dr said rice cereal contains arsenic so to skip it. FTM so just sharing what I was told. 😋

Personally we started with oat cereal at exactly 4 months and he didn’t particularly like it.  Tried a couple of times to make sure he didn’t have any allergies and then got right on with carrot purée which he absolutely loved.   Now about a week later he’s had oat cereal, carrots, butternut squash, and sweet potato and literally this kid will not stop eating it.  
(Slipped rice cereal because of the arsenic controversy)
Still have yet to see ‘better sleep’ because of solids though.  I feel like that was a thing back in the day when doctors used to recommend pablum to help babies sleep when they went through their sleep regression.

Our doctor said it has no nutritional value, so it’s a waste. We aren’t doing it.

We are doing oatmeal not rice cereal. Just a tiny bit in the evenings. We aren’t doing it to help her sleep through the night, but to hopefully help out with her acid reflux. And she still wakes up at 3 am as usual for her bottle.
