When to introduce a bottle?

Hi ladies I’m exclusively breastfeeding but I’m also pumping so I can store for when I’m not around. When is it an ok time to introduce a bottle with Breast milk in it? Baby is only 4 days old, Thank you

Our lactation consultant recommended at 3 weeks. She’s taken a couple bottles since then and took them well. And no issue w bf still. And we introduced a pacifier immediately but only rarely do we use it.

I waited about 4-6 weeks. I wanted to make sure we had a good nursing routine down so that there was no nipple confusion. Worked out well for us.

I waited 6 weeks for both bottle and paci. He didn’t end up liking the paci so we stopped. Make sure you pace feed. I didn’t notice a problem until I went back to work at 4 months he is really impatient at the breast now after I’ve worked all day because his dad lets him guzzle. If you use newborn nipples and pace feed they should be ok.

People say to wait and throw out the term nipple confusion a lot. But many lactation consultant told me that as long as they are latching really good that you can introduce it.

My daughter is 5 weeks old. We had planned to wait the recommended 4-6 weeks but by day 5 or 6 I was frustrated with pain from breastfeeding, so I pumped and my husband gave her a bottle. We intended to wait with pacifiers as well but started that within 2 weeks. We have had no issues with nipple confusion from bottles or pacifiers. She gets one bottle of breast milk every day around dinner time, and we only give her the pacifier when we know she’s full but still fussy. Everyone says to wait but do what is best for you!

I introduced fairly early, like within 2 weeks. I just needed a break and wanted to give dad a chance to feed. No issues with nipple confusion, though we did take a little longer to latch after the first bottle, but it was fine.

I gave my son a bottle of my milk when he was 5 days old , and he’s never had an issue or confusion . There’s really no reason to wait in my opinion
