What should I do?

My SIL baby shower is tomorrow and one of her friends will be there.

Well she is an ex of my SO.

She has said he was cheating on me and she would leave her fiance for my SO and many other horrible things.

I've been part of the family about two years now and are trying for a baby.

We don't have a gift.

It's girls only.

She's been friends with the mom to be for about 3 years.

So do I go to the baby shower?

The day isn't about you and her and any turmoil between you. It's a day for your SIL. You both bite your tongues and be an adult about the situation so that your SIL doesn't have a crappy day as a result of drama that has nothing to do with her.

Is the lack of gifts from low or no funds or bad planning, or...? There are tons of inexpensive ideas for baby shower gifts that you can do, make or buy. There are gift baskets you can assemble from dollar store items. There are lots of free diy ideas with tutorials or instructions. If its not about not having a gift then you are family, you should absolutely go. People can only affect you and upset you if you allow it.

Yes you go . You bite your lip . I had the exact same deal with my boyfriends ex . She said some crazy things . And a few weeks later & the first time I seen her was when my best friends dad died . She is my best friends brothers friend. I had to face her . that time wasn't about me . I had to be a grown up . As should you . Just don't acknowledge her . She will get her time no worries

What kind of relationship do u want with ur SIL? N how wud u feel if SIL didn't come to ur baby shower? If u don't want to go in fear of drama then u don't have to but I wud say go for a little while n if it gets too uncomfy just make a excuse to leave early n leave quietly.

Depends. How is your relationship with your SIL? if you have a good relationship then go and show your support. If not, then don't go but make sure you tell her you won't be attending ahead of time.
