What age were you when you moved out of parent's home, and how did you tell them?

Hey guys, so currently I'm in a situation where I feel like I can't do much in my parent's house, don't get me wrong I'll be 21 in a month, but I feel like I just want to be independent now on my own. I just don't know exactly how to explain it to them ya feel?

I moved out when I was 21, but that's because my parents were moving away and I wanted to stay with my boyfriend.

I moved out at 17 after I graduated high school. My parents are divorced and I had previously mentioned it to my mother several times. My mom was completely ok with it and was excited for me. My Dad was the harder part, mainly because I was just nervous. I had my mom vaguely mention it to him and then after before graduation he asked me about it. He was a little skeptical but happy for me as well.

19. i just told my parents that i needed to at least try living outside of the house to learn to be truly independent. i've always been pretty open w my parents, and i compromised by having a part-time situation. so half the week i live w my bf at his beach house, and the other "half" i live at home in the mountains (2-3 days). it's just a trial but i plan to move out completely next year. 
tbh if it were possible i'd probably stay at home LOL but my uni is 60 miles from home.

I moved out at 19. My parents were moving out of their house and I just told them that I was planning to move into my own place when they moved. They let me know that they would like me to stay and I was more than welcome to but I let them know i was pretty set on taking this step and they supported me. 
Your parents may want you to stay with them but they should also realize that you’re growing up and experiencing life on your own is a huge milestone that will help you build your independence and your character. It may ease their mind if you can let them know your plan and how you’re prepared to take care of yourself. Let them know you would appreciate their support and blessing but that you’re firm on your decision and you feel it’s important for you to have this experience in growth.

I was 18. I moved in with my boyfriend. And I didn't tell her until about a week before. Two years later and I'm still with my boyfriend and my mom still is mad about the way I did. But I also moved out after only being with my boyfriend for two months. We knew each other for a few months beforehand 🤷 now we tryna for a baby.

I was terrified to tell my parents. I’m 19 and moving out next month. My mom just laughed the first time I told her back in January. You’re a grown adult. I’m sure they’ll be fine with you moving out. And if they’re not then that’s just something they have to get over. My mom was kinda bitchy when I left home and moved in with my now husband but I didn’t really pay attention to it because I was 23 years old. There was no reason for me to be at home still.
