Weird period this month?

I was a day late and started yesterday morning. I had terrible cramps and heavier bleeding in the morning with a few long clots. (They were long and stringy opposed to round) and I'm still cramping today, but my bleeding has pretty much went to super light. My periods typically last 4 days with medium flow except for the last one. Has anyone else ever encountered this????
