Can I take Prenatal vitamins when taking folic acid??

I did! And was encouraged to do so. I know prenatals have folic acid in them. I have epilepsy  though, so I’m on folic acid every day no matter what.

I would talk to your provider about any supplements you are considering taking. Its not a big deal to take a prenatal bc obviously its recommended but you can consume too much folic acid. So I would just talk to them about it.

My folic acid has 800 mg which is the recommended amount, and that’s how much my prenatal has. Beforehand if you like the extra energy boost is fine. But while pregnant I stick to the guidelines. 1600 mg is excessive.
