Birth story!

Hello mommas!

I am finally getting to tell my birth story!

It was intense and I'm so thankful I had my husband through the entire thing.

So it was around 1145 PM and when I peed I wiped and a bunch of pink blood was on the toilet paper. We called L&D and they told me it was probably from dialating and I should get some rest. So we laid down and then at 140 I got up to pee and it was bright red and a lot of it and my water broke so I got my husband up and we started packing our bags in the car and got our son ready to take to my parents and we were on our way! We were nervous about the blood but excited to have our daughter! So we got to the hospital and everything was relatively normal. All of a sudden I felt a gush of fluid and assumed it was more of my water coming out so I told the nurse and she checked and it was solid blood and that's when things got scary. They wheeled me to a different room and called my doctor. At this point I'm still having gushes of blood and the nurses are now starting to act concerned and doing different tests. About 10 minutes go by and my doctor shows up and takes a look at the blood and says we need to do an emergency csection so I got wheeled back to the OR and my husband is getting gowned and my mom is crying so a nurse is with her. I'm not entirely sure at that point what is happening so I'm really scared and crying but trying to remain calm for my baby. They get me under and my husband comes back and within 5 minutes they have her out and she is getting worked on. After I'm stitched up and in our room the doctor comes in and is finally explaining what happened and I had a full placenta abruption and my daughter was drowning in blood so she had to get her our very fast. I almost had to have a blood transfusion but ended up getting better over the next few days.

The doctor said if we had stayed home longer we would have both died and it's still taking me some time to understand all of it.

I'm so blessed to have my daughter. We both recovered extremely well and fast and we are home and happy!
