Can a uti effect a pregnancy test?

I went to hospital with chest pains and they gave me blood tests which showed elevated white blood cells anyway they tested me for sti's absolutely clear they said is there any chance i could be pregnant they did a test negative but what made them think that in the first place its got my head going.. anyway so im thinking it was a uti they sent me home with antibiotics for my chest. Just me clutching at straws just want to be pregnant so badly
