Do I really have to wait a full cycle?

The drs are saying it's best to wait a full cycle after my MMC to TTC again. But the bleeding has stopped and if I know I'm ovulating in 2-3 weeks from now...it will be really hard not to jump on that and try to get pregnant again. Any insight??

I started trying as soon as I stopped bleeding after my miscarriage and conceived right away. I’m 16 weeks today and everything looks great

I haven't as we've had one loss. Let me know how it goes for you

I was told to wait 3 periods before ttc again. Your body needs to rest and recover both physically and mentally.

Thanks A. I am almost 40 and we are hoping for 2 kids and have 0. This one we lost took us 2 years to conceive, so each situation is differently and while there are risks, they are not significant enough for them to advise us to wait and they said to definitely not wait more than 1.

The advise I outlined above comes from one of the best doctors in Australia who specialise in this and works at a children/maternal hospital and the best you can get who we started to see after having 2 stillborns. There was so much evidence as to why to wait 3 cycles which is proven beneficial when you look at the stats of not waiting. Unfortunately age isn’t a factor as waiting 3 months is nothing in the scheme of things (unless you are over 40). Obviously if the professional you are seeing says otherwise than that’s fine but I was just providing some advice I had received from people who specialise in this field.

They told me due to my age to definitely not wait the 3 months, and that there's no reason to

I miscarried and 3 weeks later I found out I was pregnant again I’m now 9 weeks with twins.

Yeah mine told me to wait. I think the biggest thing is making sure your hcg went back down to zero so you are not pulling a positive pregnancy test from the miscarriage.

Congrats..that's awesome! Did your Dr tell you to wait at all or no? Not sure why they said wait a full cycle

The reason they ask you to wait is to date the pregnancy more accurately. As long as you haven't been told you need to wait for test results you're all good to try again once you have stopped bleeding and feel ready

You're welcome hunny. Just to note that you will likely have a bleed once the pregnancy tests are completely negative and then your body will prepare for ovulation and you can try again 💜

Thank you! Yes the test line is already barely there anymore.

Your cervix will be closed once you stop bleeding and your body will then start to mature an egg for ovulation. As you go through that process your cervix will slowly begin to open again ready for ovulation. I would make sure to take a pregnancy test over the next week or so to check your hcg level has gone back to normal (very small amount of cases the cytotec can cause an incomplete miscarriage - if this happens it will carry a positive pregnancy test)
