Now rolls onto his tummy when I put him down for sleep, but won’t sleep long like this and gets upset/wakes himself up crying. What do I do?! Aaagggh.

I woke up today and my LO was on his tummy pushing his head up in his crib. He wasn’t crying just awake and looking around lol

He will get used to it and stop crying. It takes a few days though! We kept rolling ours over but after the 5th time we just left her and she is a belly sleeper now

We went through the same the week he learned to roll. It took our guy a few days to get used to it. Now he loves to sleep on his side or tummy. 
Make sure to have an empty crib because now that he’s rolling he moves all around in there in his sleep.

Both of my kids have done this.  We’re going through it with our little girl too, she hates sleeping on her tummy.  I usually give her a good ten minutes before I go in there.  Sometimes, she falls back asleep, sometimes she gets back over, but most of the time she needs our help.  It’s tiring, but this too shall pass!
