Do you think it’s ok for adults to live with their parents up until the age 40

I’m obviously not talking about people that live with their sick parents so they can help them out. I’m talking about when people just never move out just because they don’t want to. I think it’s a turn off to be in your 30s living with your parents

Multigenerational households have been a thing for all of human existence. 
There is nothing wrong with them when they are done well.

Of course, there’s many reasons people stay with their parents and or never leave at all. Financial, attachment, illness, convenience and maybe even the parents don’t ever want or care for them to leave. My dad wants me to take on the house I’ve lived in my whole life and hence we decided that I won’t move out so when he passes, hopefully I can raise my son here and also because my dad has cancer and I’m his carer, it’s convenient too! No judgement at all.

I’m 36, married and have an almost 3 year old; I moved back in with my parents after I had my daughter.
You have to make at least $60 an hour to be able to afford to rent a 2 bedroom apartment in San Francisco and make $195,000 a year to afford a house here. Houses here on average cost $1 million and we are talking about one story houses with 2 bedrooms so someone making $195,000 a year is only going to find a house in the sketchier parts of the City. 
There are plenty of native San Franciscans my age (including my own friends) who still live at home with their parents because who the hell wants to pay $1000 and upward for a one bedroom (and honestly $1000 is only going to get you as studio). It’s not just San Francisco but the entire Bay Area itself.
It’s also very cultural, in Asia it’s very normal for families with grown children who are married with kids, etc to still live at home.

I wouldn't do it and I wouldn't date someone that lived with their parents.as far as anyone that isn't myself or a potential partner, I don't care. It's not my business and I don't really pay it a thought.

If the parents are cool with it then whatever.  I mean, I wouldn't let my kid, and I wouldn't date someone like that.. but what other families do is not anyone else's business, really. 🤷🏽‍♀️

I got kicked out when i was 18(now 23) but my brother and his girlfriend who is 28 still lives with my mother and doesn’t have a job and doesn’t take care of his kids from a previous relationship. Weird to me because i could not be that old living with my parents

Depends on the situation. Sometimes people do it to live off of their parents which is fucked up if you don’t have some sort of disability that prevents you from working and having your own life.
