Anyone been told they have gestantional hypertension?

Thursday was a scary day, went to see my midwife and my blood pressure was 150/100, sent to the delivery ward at the hospital and they monitored baby and I overnight. Luckily my blood pressure came down on it's own and stayed down overnight. They've now classed me as 'high risk', having gestantional hypertension and said it's more than likely caused by me only having 1 kidney. Anyone else been diagnosed with GH? I'm 26 1/2 weeks :(

Yep I was diagnosed at 20 weeks. It turned into severe pre eclampsia and then eclampsia by 26 weeks. My baby girl is now almost 3 weeks old now. 
Gestational Hypertension doesn’t always turn into preeclampsia, but it does put you at a higher risk of developing it. Which I most certainly hope you don’t develop PE.

I had it with my first. This time around I was put on Asprin daily to keep my blood pressure down.

Yup I do, they just monitoring me and I’ve had extra blood work etc. Fingers crossed it doesn’t turn into pre-eclampsia

I had it when I was pregnant with my daughter. I was full term when I was diagnosed so they just induced me.

If you only had the one high reading they shouldn’t be saying you have GH. But anyway, I had it with my first. As long as you follow doctors orders you should be fine. Watch for signs of preeclampsia still though as it can easily turn. I ended up induced at 39+2 as mine wasn’t coming down. Had him at 39+4. My bp stayed high for over a month postpartum but no other complications due to the bp.
