For the second night in a row, and the third or fourth time overall this pregnancy, I have been awakened in the middle of the night by coughing and choking on acid reflux that has made it all the way into my mouth—essentially vomit and stomach acid that just puddles in the back of my mouth and throat because there is no heaving.

The pain is unreal and the experience is both terrifying and maddening. I’ll tell my doctor but has anyone else experienced this?

Tums doesn’t even make a dent and my only hope seems to be to sleep sitting up. I’m 26 + 4, so it will be a long third trimester if this is how it’s starting out.
