Hi all! So my boyfriend and I have been together since January of this year. Although it’s only been six months or so, this relationship means a lot to me & so does he. We both love each other very much and want to make our relationship work.

He’s planning to join a fraternity this fall & although I’m excited for him, I’ve read quite a few stories of Greek life ruining a relationship. I know we won’t get to spend as much time together for those weeks during his pledge process & that I’ll be excluded from a lot of events - one reason being that I’m not apart of Greek life and don’t really have any interest in being.

I want him to join the fraternity and do well, I know it’s something that he wants to do to help with building professional connections in the future, but I won’t lie and say that I’m not terrified of what the upcoming semester will being us.

Has anyone dealt with something similar and have advice on how to make it through the pledge process?
