Ignoring public opinion??

Has anyone named thier baby a name you and your hubby loved but the general public didn't seem to like? I've posted a name we like on here and on other sites and have gotten very negative feedback (which is fine because i asked for people's opinions). It's not a wierd or embarrassing name like fruitacous or lampo. It's just a made up name and some have said the first and middle don't flow together but we don't want to change either name. Anyone have experience going with and unpopular name? Did you reget it or did people come to love it too? I'd love to hear your experience! Thanks :)
