MTHFR gene mutation and miscarriage

I just wanted to inform everyone of something that I’ve heard not once but twice. My sister in law mentioned to me after she found out that we had two miscarriages in 3 months that her friend tested positive for this gene and because her doctor tested for it, she now has 2 healthy kids. Today at my appt, my doctor went over my blood clotting disorder results with us and said that they came back negative but that she also tested for the MTHFR gene for me and it came back positive. She said she has seen the following lead to healthy pregnancies. Baby Aspirin daily, along with the vitamin pictured, and the prenatal vitamin. We are now hopeful for a healthy pregnancy soon now that we know my lack of active folic acid in my body. I’m just putting this out there for others who have had pregnancy loss and feel like they have no answers.

They can - or you can request it, but they don't as standard :(

I just wish that they could test for that with all of the initial bloodwork when you first find out because then we may not have had 2 miscarriages. 😢

I have that too! Doc put me on methylfolate b-12 and baby aspirin as well. Good luck!
