IUI... how many of you got pregnant with it?

We just got diagnosed with unexplained infertility and the dr at shady grove suggests we start the 
IUI
 process... but I’m afraid it will not work... not sure why, but I have this feeling. Any happy story at the first try?

I got pregnant on the first try with the IUI! Just make sure the doctor your using explains everything clearly and you’ll be okay. I took meds to help ovulate, was monitored with ultrasounds to see when I was going to ovulate, when they saw I was almost there I did a shot in my stomach and hubs and I were to baby dance that night and then next morning we went in and he gave the sample, we went and had breakfast while they got it ready, and then we had the procedure done. It hurt a little, the long tube going up the cervix, but it wasn’t bad and didn’t last long. 2 weeks later we got a super strong BFP! Good luck, I hope you have success!!

Were about to start IUI with Shady Grove as well. My husband had low-ish motility and morphology. They say the odds depend on how good the man’s sample is. The best it can be is 15-20%, but for me that was enough for me to confidently go forward with it. It’s a much less expensive and invasive option 🤷🏻‍♀️. My first cycle will be with Chlomid, FSH shot, trigger shot and progesterone 🤞🏼 prayers for all of us!

Great question, same here🙋. My husband and I were told we should do IVF+ICSI but if we wanted to try IUI first, we could -my husband has issues with the sperm morfology but everything else was normal so the actual diagnostic is  unexplained infertility. Initially, we were planning to do 2 IUI and then move on to IVF. However, after many delays in our treatment (we wanted to start back in march) and the frustration that comes with it every month, we are seriously considering to go ahead with IVF. I wish there were more statistics to understand what are our chances... I really wanted to try IUI and be 100% sure we needed IVF, but at this point I am already tired and frustrated and we don't want to have 2 more months of disappointment to end up going for IVF.

I had secondary fertility issues and tried IUI.  Managed to get pregnant on my 3rd try but it ultimately didn’t take.  Went onto IVF and after another miscarriage we finally got our rainbow baby with the second transfer.  Little girl is almost 9 months.  I was also at Shady Grove and was told that the chances after 3 failed IUI cycles go down considerably.  However, it can work, and it’s SO much less invasive and painful than IVF.

I got pregnant on my second iui and had a miscarriage at 10 weeks and got pregnant on my third iui and am currently 8 weeks pregnant!

I got pregnant on my second IUI. Unfortunately miscarried. Had my third IUI but it didn’t work.
