Breastfeeding duration?

My baby girl is 5 weeks old and spends at least 25 mins feeding on one breast and 10 mins on the other. Is this normal? When does it get to be less?

This sounds like my daughter. If she is still actively eating I let her keep going but if she is starting to slow down or fall asleep I will pull her off. Some kiddos are more efficient eaters than others.

My first was an hour, every feed, until he was 4 months. This baby is around 15 mins. There is a huge range of “normal” and some kids stay with longer feedings, some shorten once they get mobile and want to play. It all depends on the kid

We average about 15 minutes per breast. I use Glow Baby to time nursing sessions.

My pediatrician told me at my baby’s 2 week appointment to keep baby 15min at each breast no more than that
