GBS test/swabbing?

At today’s appointment my dr let me know that in two weeks (my next appt) I’ll have the gbs test done... was not expecting to hear that it was a vaginal & rectal swab test 😬 I’m so weird about things like that but for anyone that’s had it done, how uncomfortable is it?

They just rub the outside. Nobody is gonna stick a swab in your butt hole promise! Lol super quick. Yes it is awkward but it doesn’t hurt or anything

Yeah it’s nothing at all, it just takes a couple of seconds, don’t stress even slightly over it.

It’s no biggie. Super quick and just the outer area. The testing doesn’t need much of a sample. With both babies, nothing was inserted. BREATHE EASY, YA’LL! :)

I know it wasn’t but mine felt more like an accidental brush.

I got to do my own swab, it's a qtip and it takes like 2 seconds to do.  Its about the least invasive thing you have or will have done when being pregnant lol

Just had mine done last week and it is no worse than a Pap smear and they don’t stick it up your rectum. The only thing I wasn’t prepared for was that I did have a couple drops of blood in my panties afterwards.

My doctor had me swan myself 🤷‍♀️ so didn’t bother me at all. Not sure if it’ll be the same for this pregnancy as I have a different doctor
