Pack n play necessary?

I plan to keep baby next to me in a bassinet; which I already have. He has a nursery with changing table not far from living room and main living area. I had registered for a pack n play also but felt like it was overkill so took it off. Is it necessary if I already have a bassinet and regular changing table?

I have never found the need. We have a travel bassinet and a changing pad. We changed our son where we were which was more convenient. Even with having two kids I’m still not getting one. Baby girl will get the same bassinet as her brother (he is in a toddler bed) and has her own changing mat. IF we travel we will bring the bassinet or reserve a crib at the hotel (99% of them offer cribs).

We used our pack n play all the time with our first. We kept it in living room while our bassinet was in our room so it was great for naps. As she got older and could sit up, we used to put some toys in there and she would play while I went to the bathroom or had to prep dinner. We also traveled with it to the on long trips to visit my in-laws (we travel a lot so for us it was really worth it)

A pack n play would be nice for any type of traveling where you won’t have access to a safe sleeping space for babes. I will be using a pack n play for traveling and having somewhere to set babes down safely since I have a two story home.

We got this for and it is much easier to set up and move for traveling, putting outside, or when we have extra babies sleeping over.

My first rolled over at 11 weeks and I didn’t feel safe leaving her in the bassinet after that, so we used the pack n play in our room as her bed for a good 4 more months. Glad I had it 🤷🏻‍♀️

I have a pack and play that I used downstairs in my house for naps or to lay baby in instead of down on the floor while I got things done like cleaning. Also we used it for travel and at my in laws house since they watch baby while I'm working. Even just for naps at a friend or family members house if you are over for holidays or a quick visit. We used ours quite a bit even though we didn't need it for night time or changing.

We have used ours a ton with my girl! I recommend if you are planning to travel. It's also nice for naps or even once they start crawling and pulling up to get short breaks from them lol

It’s a nice plus but you don’t need it necessarily. I have 2 bassinets and a crib so I didn’t bother getting a pack n play

We didn’t use ours with our first. It was so hard/bulky to set up it was more of a hassle bringing it places.
