Do you suffer from anxiety attacks?

The reason I'm asking is because my wife has been diagnose with an anxiety disorder she has been fine up until recently. She has been having anxiety attacks. In her case her chest becomes so tight she has trouble breathing she also has muscle spasms. I'm at a loss, and feel useless to the matter. She takes her anxiety meds when this happens and it works eventually but for a while she is freaking out, and it scares me. If you suffer from them or know someone who does what can I do? What helps you through them? ANY advice would be helpful.
