what do i do with my bridal party?

I’m not one to speak up and will 100% let people walk right over me because i’m weak and i just feel bad about everything. SO here’s the problem, what do i do if my bridal party expecr me to pay for their dress,makeup and hair? I haven’t said i am going too but they have said way before i asked them that it’s the brides job to pay. I’d absolutely love too but it’s going to cost me like 1-2k extra if i did. Thoughts on this?
UPDATE: i’ve only chosen the colour i’m
going to let them get their own dress but i’d love to be shown first because i don’t want anything too booby on them

Every wedding I have been in I have bought my own dress and paid for my own hair and makeup. When I got married my bridesmaids paid for their own dress, hair and makeup too.

Would you consider the option of just choosing a dress color and letting your bridesmaids choose their own dresses? That way they can choose something in their budget instead of dishing out $200 for a dress they’ll wear once.

Your bridesmaids are selfish. My bridesmaids paid for their own hair, makeup and nails and dresses. They received in their gift bags earrings to match their dress, flip flops and robes to get ready in. It is your day and if they accept your invitation to be in the wedding, they need to expect to be able to afford the cost, if they can’t afford that then they should politely decline.

If you want their hair and makeup done a certain way by a stylist then yea I'd say you should definitely pay for it. Otherwise just tell them how you prefer they do it and let them do it themselves. Generally bridesmaids pay for their dresses but its a nice gesture to pay for it pay a portion if you can. My bridal party was my sister so I got her dress. She did both our makeup. But if you want all these expensive extras and want them to pay for all I think thats ridiculous. Some may not be able to so to make them do so would be pretty sad. Just my opinion though.

It’s not always the brides that have to pay. My sister is not paying for her bridesmaids’ dresses, everyone is paying for their own stuff.

Bride shouldn’t pay for the party. I have turned down being in a wedding simply because I couldn’t afford it at the time. When you accept the role of bridesmaid, you accept the responsibility of cost.

Just tell them that it's their responsibility. Or maybe tell them dress and shoes is on them, but you'll pay for hair or get them matching jewelry. You absolutely are not expected to pay for all that if you don't want to.

Not once has a bride ever paid for my hair, makeup, nails, etc. The bride has always chosen a dress and the rest of us just ordered what we were told to order. No way as i bride would I pay for people to stand up In my wedding. Not how it works.

I didn’t put this in my original comment, but I did the same thing (basically).
I told them what color scheme I wanted them to stay in and that I wanted it to be floor length. They both picked dresses from different stores that they completely loved- AND could afford.
I don’t think what you’re doing is unreasonable at all... 
It’s not like you’re holding a gun to their head and asking them to buy a $500 dress 🤦🏼‍♀️
