What did you buy after your baby shower?

So, I just had my baby shower this past weekend and got all of the usual gifts. But what did you go back to buy? What did you forget to register for that you bought afterwards?
What are the necessities that you went back to get before baby made their arrival?

Did you get medicines? An experienced mom gave me that advice to add meds to my registry.

Hardly anybody stuck to my registry so I actually had to go back and get quite a bit of things which was a paiiin.. I had to get a swing, bathing toiletries (wash, lotion, qtips), diaper caddies, baby powder, diaper rash cream, mittens, socks, clothes he can fit into as a newborn and 0-3mos (everyone got us bigger sizes and stuff he cant wear or use anytime soon) I dont get it. LoL 
I also got breastfeeding essentials like nipple cream, breast pads, pouches I can warm or freeze for breast discomfort, storage baggies and my breast pump. I'm 38weeks, it was alot to do. I hope I didnt forget anything 🤷‍♀️

The main things I remember buying after baby was born were nursing bras and tanks (my size changed after my milk came in so I ended up only having one bra that still fit), and a rectal thermometer (the forehead one I had bought just wasn’t accurate enough).

Hmm after everything I got, I ended up getting washable breast pads on amazon, nipple cream, a nose frida and saline, more burp cloths, baby socks, bed sheets and waterproof liner (x2), sleep sacks, and Tylenol and benedryl. Think that’s about it.

Stuff I hated to buy way later was more wipes, diapers, Tylenol, Motrin, cough stuff, baby Vick’s, plain onesies, socks, bottle wash, dreft. That’s what we used gift cards on.

I got most things from my registry. Luckily all the big items so there wasn’t much I need but oddly we only received one box of diapers....one lol size 1. I couldn’t believe it, not that I wasn’t thankful but I figure we would get more than one box. I mentioned this to a co worker, who both me and my husband knows, who was a sweet heart and sent us a gift of two boxes of diapers to the house..... size two and three. So when she came early, my shower happened only the week before, we had to order newborn diapers online before we left the hospital. I also didn’t get any bottles, well we got one....and it wasn’t realistic to use with a tiny newborn and seemed like a cheap throwaway bottle you pick up quickly bc your in a bind 🤷🏼‍♀️. I had collected the free ones that I got from all the baby bags/boxes around but luckily didn’t need them right away and when we started using them a couple of two once bottles worked perfectly. We also didn’t get any bottle sanitizing tools or nipple creams. People free that it’s too personal I guess.

V-neck or kimono style onesies, hydrogel pads for my poor nips, more NB size diapers, footed sleepers that zipped down from the neck for easy diaper changes, more burp cloths, bibs.

If you don't already have it I would definitely get Amazon Prime. There will always be unexpected things no matter how much you plan and specific things for each baby you'd never think you need until it's 3 am and you don't have it. Also the Pantry option is nice to not have to go anywhere. And you get it in 1-2 days which is fantastic.
