Is my baby gaining enough?

My LO was born a month early and weighed 5lb 13 Oz. Two weeks later we were released from the Nicu & two weeks after that he weighed 8lb. Next Tuesday will be his 2month check up and as of today he weighs 9lb 7oz. So within that month from his two week check up, has he gained enough?

My pedi has always said you want them to gain about 2 lbs a month the first 3 months so this sounds great!

That’s fine. My baby is about 2 be 2 months and weighs 9 pounds and was born 7 pounds. Some babies gain a lot and some don’t. I know babies at 6 months who only weigh 15 pounds and I know babies who are 2 months who weigh 16 pounds. Each baby is different

All babies are different, but my pediatrician said that gaining anything above 20 grams a day is fine. An average of 30 grams is best, but doesn't always happen 🤷 we are on the other end of the spectrum, my girl was born at 36 weeks weighting 5lbs 15 oz and as of yesterday she weighed 11lbs 2oz at almost 9 weeks. But in the beginning she was gaining like 55 grams a day 😂😂 which is not better because she was throwing up a lot and having a few tummy issues.

My daughter also was 5 lbs 13 oz at birth then she dropped. They had me supplement with formula and we had to see the doctor weekly the first month. They took her off supplements at 2 weeks said she was gaining “too much” she’s 6 weeks 5days and 8 1/2 lbs. sounds like your little one is gaining just fine.
