Naming Baby boy after dad?

*lets say you like dads name, & he really wants a Jr., 
but you have your own boy names you’d prefer..

I’d use his name as a middle name. Two of one name in the same house would drive myself and likely everyone else crazy. Just my opinion though

Idk how cool you or he would be with the idea but before we found out we were having a girl we decided if the baby was a boy that we would name him to have the same initials as my boyfriend. He doesn't really like his name but we thought it would be a cool subtle way to honor him while giving our kid his own name.

My dad and his dad share a first and middle name and my brother shares their first name with a different middle name. I wouldn't name my child after my hubby and he doesn't want that either.

My baby’s dad is a second himself and ever since we started dating he talked about wanting to pass his name on if he has a boy. I really didn’t like this idea so was hoping for a girl but of course am having a boy lol! I decided I would let him have this since it’s clearly important to him. What we did to help me be ok with it, is we came up with a creative nick name. My biggest issue was everyone having the same name, so with the nick name, my problem is solved. The name is Patrick and we chose Ricky as a nick name.

I would of preferred my son to have a different name (which he does) mostly because of the confusion. But my husband went back and forth wanting to name him after him. If he would of decided too, I would of let him .

My husbands name is cypress Allen olson. I love his first name but don’t necessarily like his middle name. So when we had our son he wanted a jr. We ended up going with Cypress drayton olson for our sons name. Drayton is a family name on my side. We still call my son cj and consider him a jr.
