No, my husband when we were first dating rarely texted me. Hes just a horrible texter. He would prefer to call when he could because he was so used to leaving his phone or forgetting about it. I was really concerned about it at first and just had a serious talk one day, hes alot better at it now. Especially since hes military and gone most of the time.

I used to feel I needed to be texted all of the time. I used to message my ex a lot like as much as i could and would be annoyed if he didnt reply and he said i was annoying and too needy. That being said that relationship was terrible and i learned a lot of lessons from it, one being that you don't always have to message your SO.

Depends on what is not very much. If you guys are communicating at least once or twice a day, I think that’s fine. Going a week or so without any communication is kinda weird.

It depends, how often do you text him and so on the other way round? In the start of relationships things are usually honeymoon phase and you can’t get enough of each other even via texting from experience. If he works, etc then maybe that could be why?
