No but where I worked it was against company police to ask someone about how much they made. It's no one's business.

It depends on the person. Like if I know them and I have a relationship with them, I’d tell them. If I don’t know them, I wouldn’t

If companies aren’t transparent about salaries, then I can understand why someone would be curious. (When I mean transparent I mean like this amount of experience gets you x dollars and so on)

A few of my close work friends have talked about it before. Only to make sure we thought we were being paid fairly. Our company is notorious for favoritism and over paying people who don’t do shit. (Glad I don’t work for them anymore) lol. But if it was someone I didn’t like and didn’t know, hell no I wouldn’t tell them.

Yes. This happened to me once right after a promotion. My coworker and I both got promotions but he was considered full time and I was considered part time so same job, just a difference in pay. He wanted to make sure I wasn’t making anything near what he was since he had a higher title and would work more since he was full time. I felt VERY uncomfortable about it because I was only making .25 less than him an hour. I didn’t tell him that, I avoided the question. However, I did let my manager know and she laid into him. Apparently you can get fired on the spot at my company for asking/harassing a person what they make an hour as it’s considered private information. 
***the only reason I knew what he was making was because he told me. He said “so I’m making $10*/hr now since I’m full time so that puts you at what I was making right? You’re at $9*/hr now right?” 
*not actual amount.
He got off with a warning and didn’t speak to me for a bit, but it’s his own nosey fault🤷🏽‍♀️
I didn’t even know he could get fired for it until my manager told me after I said I was uncomfortable. If I would’ve known I wouldn’t have said anything, but what’s done is done 🤷🏽‍♀️
