Menstrual cup

I have a problem, sometimes my menstrual cup doesn't hold all of the blood and it starts to leak. Not always but it does and I never am certain it won't leak. Does anyone else have this problem and how do you prevent leakage? Am I just putting it in incorrectly or should I go a size up? A have a small
