Rib Cage Pain

Isabel • mommy of one & one on the way 🤰🏻💕

34 weeks & experiencing rib pain when sitting down. It’s usually my right rib cage, My guess is because everything is squashing up against it especially her since she’s so high up. Anyone else experiencing that?

Yep! My midwife said that the upper two ribs on both sides aren’t attached to the spine for the specific reason of expanding when women get pregnant and it’s just the pressure on the ribs. I get it very badly. 😓😒

I’m not totally sure but would think the lower the get, the less pressure on the upper part of your body. That’s when the lower back pain gets to kick in 🤣 I try to adjust the way I’m sitting and make sure to lean back frequently to take the pressure off my ribs.

Yep! And one spot towards the middle of my ribs has been numb for the past couple of months. My doc said it’s normal but it feels super bruised all the time, very uncomfortable 😣 my baby is breech and his little head is always pushing up against my rib cage.

Yes, same.Had it last pregnancy as well in the third trimester. In fact, she liked to press against my ribs with her feet. It sucked.
