I’m definitely thinking way ahead with this one but I’m going to be having a scheduled induction in January due to health problems and I’ve recently been thinking about Christmas and how my induction date is going to be so close to Christmas. Of course I would like to go celebrate with my family but my family Christmas’s have upwards of 40 people at them and I literally can’t remember even one year that we haven’t ended up with some kind of cold or sickness after attending. I don’t want to end up sick for labour and I don’t want to risk my SO or toddler getting sick either and then having to worry about a newborn getting sick. Am I overthinking this? Would you skip a big family event or party if it was very close to your due date? Is it reasonable to just politely tell your family you won’t be attending this year?
