I feel like a FUCKING IDIOT.

I sent my friend who is mtf transgender a meme about periods. I know she is transgender, I know that🤦🏻‍♀️ and somehow still forgot and I saw the meme and was like “heh heh” and sent it to her via text saying “don’t you hate that shit.” I sent it, sat my phone down and then my eyes almost bulged out of my head.

Hi I’m a dumbass. She hasn’t read the text yet because I think she’s sleeping and I’m afraid its going to trigger her in some way. In my head she’s going to see that and just be reminded of how she doesn’t have periods and make her dysphoric. I forgooooooot. I know im a bad friend for not remembering that she wouldn’t relate to that meme. What do I sayyyyy. Do I just leave it and wait for her response or do I say something before she texts back.

Side note: Transphobic comments will just be muted. This is my friend and I love her. Please do not.

UPDATE: she texted back “lol what”

And I called her and explained and she actually got extremely happy about it after laughing at me because I was super apologetic. She said I just made her whole day. Because y’all are right, she said “you see me as a girl. It lets me know that I’m passing and that means a lot to me.” And now her Facebook posts are super perky lol
