Anyone else with second baby?

Question

Anyone else low key panicking about having a baby in flu season with a toddler at home? He starts preschool this year and I have anxiety. So of course my anxiety is next level being pregnant and all. I’m soooo afraid of anyone seeing my baby and having a sickness they don’t know they have and I’m even more afraid my son will bring one home and give it to all of us right before birth or right after. Am I being dramatic? Is there a way to prevent this?! 😩😩

Not dramatic at all, my first was never sick until she started school. Shes going into first grade but i remember preschool, pre-K and K. I never understood why parents send their kids to school sick 🙄

Yes! My son will be starting 3K this year and  I’m so paranoid for our new February baby. 
My first born was a preemie (32 weeks, born in early March) and we kept him home for such a long time because of germs/flu season. Not really sure how we will manage this time around, since I know big brother will want to help with baby 😫

No you’re not being dramatic!! It can be a hassle and really nerve racking to do everything to prevent something and still get it. I had to bring my last baby in flu season with school age kids 10 and 6 and with flu shots, everyone in this house besides me got the flu right before baby was born. I was so nervous I would go into labor while everyone was still sick!! Wash hands!!

I teach Kinder and my mom is a teacher as well. My first was born Jan 3 so right there in the middle of everything. We didn’t go out of the house until he could have his 2 month shots (I stayed home with him). This one will have to go into preschool at 6 weeks. I hadn’t thought of that 😬 Now I’m nervous too. I guess plenty of people do it, but ahh!

Everyone in my house will be getting a flu shot. It’s good for their immune system to be sick from time to time, and I understand that the flu is different but you can’t shield your child from everything. Try not to worry so much, and if your toddler gets sick you can always teach him to wash hands or sanitize before touching baby and use bleach to clean everything. There’s only so much you can do.

Def stressed too but know I’ll be gone through May so we probably won’t go out a ton and any visitors MUST wash hands. If anyone is even semi sick I would kill them if they came over

I’m stressed about it too especially with all the big parties and gatherings around the holiday season. I have an almost three year old and I’m panicking that she will get sick right before I have to deliver or right after having the baby. I’m just hoping it doesn’t happen lol. I might also avoid people for the few weeks before my due date and ill definitely be strict about only non-sick people visiting after baby is born and anyone who comes needs to wash their hands before holding baby. I don’t think there’s anyway to totally prevent it unfortunately. Lots of hand washing, sanitizing surfaces in your house, making sure anyone who comes over is honest about whether themselves or family has been sick recently. That’s all you can really do.

I’m just ready illnesses. My daughter is 2 and goes to daycare and I’m an elementary school teacher. Avoiding it is impossible. I’m hoping for strong immune systems and I’m preparing for the worst :)

My first was born in February. I was strict about visitors. No one comes that has any symptoms and everyone had to wash and sanitize before touching baby. With the toddler now... that’ll be the tough part but flu shot and get through to spring quick hopefully.
