NEWBORN HIT IN HEAD. What do I do?!?

Question

My one week old was hit in the head by her four year old cousins knee. He jumped on the couch and bounced and hit her in the back in the head. 
She cried for like two seconds and went back to sleep.
I’m so worried that somethings wrong with her.

Don’t worry babies are tougher than we think. Just watch out for excessive vomittjng or if you can’t wake your newborn within two hours of them getting hit either of those go to the hospital. But probably just fine

If you're worried and it'll help ease your mind call the pediatrician. I wouldn't go in unless reauested by the doctor

When in doubt, I call the pedi. They always let me know what to do from there. 
But mostly for a head bump, in my experience: they’d say to watch out for baby acting different. And if baby doesn’t display those signs, then baby should be fine.

Honestly it’s most likely fine. Newborns have been getting hit in the head by older siblings and cousins for millennia. They are much more sturdy than they seem thank to evolution, and except for their soft spot their skulls are pretty thick. The biggest concern is if they lose consciousness when the blow occurs but your little one crying indicates she didn’t. To be safe, I would try rousing your child soon, make sure the pupils are the same size and otherwise not worry unless vomiting occurs. My dad is a pediatrician and this was pretty much his advice every time I called him freaking out about my daughter bumping her head
