Beautiful birth experience ❤️ I had a scheduled elective induction on Monday July 22,2019. Got to the hospital at 6 pm, they gave me a 12 hour cervical ripening suppository at 7 pm. I was only 1 cm the whole 12 hours but I was experiencing such painful contractions that I started taking dilaudid through an IV, which allowed me to get 30 min of sleep. My doctor came at 8 am and I was still 1cm but my cervix had thinned a little more so she broke my water manually and they started Pitocin through an IV. Come 12 noon, I’m 4 cm and my contractions are STRONG and 2 mins apart and I just couldn’t take the pain anymore so I got an epidural (best idea ever) . I was finally able to rest and be comfortable. I didn’t feel anything. I was even able to do my hair and makeup in the hospital bed an hour before I gave birth because the epidural helped so much. I was having conversations, laughing with my family, enjoying every minute. At 330, they checked my cervix and I’m 8 cm! They came back to check around 430 and I was 10 cm and baby was at station 2. They waited about 15 min till I got to station 4 and I pushed for 10 minutes and my son was born healthy at 4:56 pm July 23, 2019 at 7lbs 1oz 20 inches long❤️ I didn’t tear but I did bleed a lot after delivery but I was in such bliss that I didn’t realize what a serious situation it was. I had an empowering and calm and peaceful birth experience and I’m so grateful ❤️ here’s my first born, Kingston Anthony Alejandro
