Am I overreacting? 7 week old & ice cream
We went to Ryan’s tonight (a buffet) my FIL (we have a past bc he loves to lie and start stuff so we’ve had some issues) goes to get some ice cream and says “can she have some” I said “no” a few mins go by, here he is sticking the ice cream cone in her face and trying to get her to lick it. I’m sitting there like “what the hell are you doing, I literally just told you no” well he keeps saying “oh she wants it” “mama just needs to turn her head and look away” and just keeps testing me. My husband isn’t saying anything whatsoever to him after I just said no, my husband said “it won’t hurt her” and I’m like I don’t care, it’s my daughter, if I say no, I mean no. We leave and get in the car and for about 20 mins down the road all I hear is his dad saying “you really wanted that ice cream and mama wouldn’t give you any, you need to take it out on her” “I’ll buy you some baby ice cream and give it to you” “you’re mad bc you didn’t get any ice cream” and just kept going on and on. Did I over react? She’s 7 weeks old, she’ll be 8 weeks Sunday and she’s already had problems with her formula being a certain type of milk so we’ve had to switch it, so I don’t even know what ice cream would do. Am I just overthinking it?
