I think it’s a great idea and I would buy someone a gift like that if I saw it on a registry. First thing I did with a large cash gift from my parents post partum was buy a roomba. Worth every damn penny.

We are really considering this!  We have two dogs, one that sheds like CRAZY, so it would still be for baby?

I say yes, because a baby registry is not just a list for others to use & buy presents its also for the parents. I plan on putting non-baby items like another hamper for babys clothes on the registry that i know another person will not buy but i need for baby (& only need it because of the baby). i get a completion discount, im putting the items on the registry so that i can get the discount when i buy them. Another user said you can add it & keep private, which is a good idea & ill have to explore that option.

It's your registry. Go for it. My parents get us a 'baby gift' for every birth and it's not necessarily for baby. We got a new stove with our son and my brother just got a new ac when their daughter was born. 🤷‍♀️
