Has my milk came in?

Question

Hi everyone I’m having a bit of a hard time with breastfeeding being a new mom, I was having hard time latching so I decided to pump and see what I got out of it and I’m pumping this color about every 3 hours for 15min 2-3oz each time. Is this colostrum or milk? Is it starting to transition? I don’t know what to do anymore. Any advice is welcome 😢

Look up breastfeeding on YouTube, the ones with real boobs and not with people showing what to do with dolls. It really helped me with latching on. Also they tell you not to pump until 4-6weeks to fully establish breastfeeding. Pumping doesnt give you an accurate amount of what you think you can get out. Your baby will be more efficient at getting the milk out. You'll be feeding every 40-60 mins every feed at the start so it is really draining. LO being on you all the time is cluster feeding and will help build up your supply.

I would say yes. If you are having trouble with the latch see if you can find a lactation consultant in your area you and your baby can visit. Your local hospital should that is the closest in my area. I loved mine she was so helpful and very informative! Both my girls had trouble latching and come to find out they where tongue tied, it is pretty common and super easy to take care of they can usually do it same visit in office. You are doing wonderful mama keep up the good work! 💕💕congratulations on your new addition.

Looks like colostrum. That’s how mine looked like the first 4-5 days after having my baby. Then it turned into the “real” milk which was white. I used a nipple shield and it worked right away. I know it’s so hard to find the perfect latch.. 😬 but the shield was worth it cause one day she just latched all by herself and it was no issue from there on!

Yes,  it's starting to transition from colostrum to milk.  You're milk has come in.  Keep up the pumping schedule (even through the night) if you can't get baby to latch. This is what happened to me and I kept at it and ended up exclusively pumping for a year.  Look up Facebook groups for pumping and/or nursing. The exclusive pumping group was extremely helpful for me.
