How long is previously refeigerated breast milk good for ?

My baby didn’t finish all of it Can I put it back in the fridge ? Or toss it?

I was told if it’s already in a bottle that has touched their mouth, you cannot use it again for a later feeding because of bacteria. If you have a bag and split it (leave some in the bag, use the rest for bottle) then you can keep it in there for another day.

Breastmilk is different than formula. You can use it for the next feeding. I put it back in the refrigerator and give it to her later.

I never know how much my baby will drinks during a feeding so if she only takes half the bottle, I put it back in the fridge and serve it to her chilled later. I was told to never warm breastmilk twice and once it is warmed, it’s good for two hours at room temperature. But I know there are a lot of differing “rules”. I do know if breastmilk is bad, it has a soured smell so I always smell it if I’m unsure.

It depends if it was fresh/refrigerated or frozen. Frozen milk should follow more along the lines of formula - good for 24 hours in the fridge after thawing and once they’ve fed off the bottle use it within about an hour. Fresh milk can be put back for a short period and used for another feeding.
I exclusively pumped with my first and had supply issues so I didn’t dump anything I didn’t have to! Just use common sense

Once it’s thawed it’s good for 24 hours. I would suggest thawing the milk in the fridge and only warming up what you think you may need at a time. Once it’s at room temp its only good for 4 hours. You can’t put it back in the fridge
