Has anyone had a baby with a blocked tear duct?

I'm going to take my son (8 mths) into the doctor this week for a blocked tear duct it's getting so bad, it looks so painful. Has anything gone through this? Was surgery the only result?

I shot some breast milk into my daughter's when she had it. Seriously, I know it sounds nuts. But it worked like a charm. Try it if you can!

My first and her cousin (I think it’s hereditary). With my first I used warm wash clothes and it worked itself out. My sister-in-law has to use eye drops for about a week and then her baby was fine. Surgery is a possibility but might not be necessary.

Yes my son had one until he was about one. They gave us eyedrops and told us to put a warm wash cloth over it a few times a day to help it open up. They usually resolve themselves. It was pretty frustrating though.

My 20 month old went through it for awhile. She used eye drops several times a day and thankfully it cleared up okay!
