I wore cabbage leaves for two days and nights straight in a sports bra and it got me over the painful/engorged part. Dried up shortly after and I never leaked or anything.

Benadryl, Mucinex, and Sudafed will absolutely dry up your supply. Take those round the clock for a bit and use cold cabbage leaves in your bra. If you do get engorged, take a warm shower and let the warm water stimulate a letdown to take the edge off the engorgement. You don't want to express the milk manually or my pumping because that will just stimulate your breasts to make more milk again. A massager or vibrator will also help if you get hard spots or clogs as your supply dries up.

With my son, I switched to formula after 3 months. What really helped with me to dry up was wearing sports bras (your boobs are sensitive so be careful!) and avoiding warm/hot water in the shower (I had a lot of arched positions in there 😂). I also lightly expressed any time I felt overfull. It took about 1 week for the pain to go away then another few days before I dried up

There are teas designed to help dry up. Also peppermint is known to diminish milk supply so you could also drink peppermint tea(probably costs significantly less than a tea specifically marketed to drying up supply)

Try to wean down if your milk comes in after birth. Like pump/or feed enough to stop the engorging but then stop. And do less and less every time.
