Exclusively pumping??

Question

FTM here so I'm not exactly sure how this all works... I know the obvious pros of breast feeding but I personally would rather just pump so he would be getting my breast milk but also let others feed him with a bottle.. Anybody else exclusively pump? Do you pump colostrum right when they're born? Or do you wait until your milk is all in? Anybody not have a good experience doing it?  Any feedback would be great!! TIA

I'm mostly pumping because my little guy dose not nurse very long on me. My milk dose not come out fast enough for him. Then he just get upsets. If anyone has any ideal how to get him to nurse and not get upset.

If you exclusively pump, you will have to do so at the same intervals a baby would eat, so every 2-3 hours. And then baby has to eat. It can be a challenging process. I'd suggest start off with nursing- most lactation consultants don't suggest pumping until 4 weeks but if you really feel others need to be involved in the process, then you could pump after your AM feed (when typically you have the most milk) and have it available for a later feeding (when you'd still have to pump).

Crucial to pump colostrum! You have to get plenty of nippe stimulation those first few days so that you have plenty of milk come in. I exclusively pumped with my first for the first year. It is a lot of work but it worked great for us.

Don't wait till your milk comes in. You can start pumping right away afterwards. Colostrum is good nutrients baby needs as well. You can pumo and use the bottle but make sure you get a brand that mimics breastfeeding or baby just might not take both.
