So I’m sort of in a bind right now. For the last year my period has always been on time lasting at least 7 days. In July I was due for my period on the 18th. Didn’t show and finally came on the 24th but only lasting 4 days. I went to my OB/GYN and confirmed not pregnant and was prescribed the pill as a contraceptive. I had yet to start the pill and had unprotected(also came inside me) sex six days after my shortened period had ended. My question is...can a late period/shortened period effect when you ovulate? Would it cause ovulation to come earlier since it didn’t last the 7 days it would usually last? I just don’t want to start the pill if there is a chance of being pregnant because I don’t want to mess up my body if that’s the case. I just need some advice and what my next step should be.
