How many ultrasound??

So we went for our 12 week ultrasound scan but the pictures and honestly not the best. I’m curious how many ultrasounds we normally get?? My hubby wants to ask for another next week bc we really want a good picture. But my OB only does one more scan at our anatomy visit! The baby was moving around so much I think that’s why she couldn’t get good images.

It depends where you live and what practitioner you’re seeing. I had a vaginal ultrasound at my first appt (10 weeks), a 12-week scan with a sonographer, and will have my next and I believe last one at 20 weeks.

My clinic does 3 unless you are high risk. I think if you request it, they can’t deny it but I don’t think insurance would help with it.

It depends on your insurance. Most insurance companies only cover 3 ultrasounds, so one in the very beginning, your dating scan and then the anatomy.

I have had 2 ultrasounds so far, and getting another one today. Im 11weeks. I’m high risk and they do it to keep an eye on my cervix and what not. Normally it’s 2 or 3 ultrasounds per pregnancy.
